Greetings WRS Members and Guests!
Please read the following carefully if you are interested in participating in this event.
Final preparations are taking place for our 2010 WRS Express Bus Charter to some of the finest reef shops in Chicago. The date is Saturday March 27th. The bus is scheduled for departure at 8:00AM sharp. The bus will be at the park and ride lot at 7:30AM, please be punctual so that you can get your gear on board in a timely fashion. I anticipate us returning to the park and ride lot between 6:00PM and 7:00PM, however this depends on travel time, time in store, etc. The bus has an official capacity of 54, so the first 54 people to post in the members only thread or contact me will be granted boarding passes.

Eligibility To be eligible to participate in this event you must be a WRS member. If you are bringing your spouse, GF, BF, child, brother, sister, friend, mother, father, etc. they must be a member of the Wisconsin Reef Society. We will be able to sign up new members on the day of the trip. If you are signing up as a WRS member the day of the trip PLEASE PM me so that I can place you on the reservation sheet in our members only forums. This allows us to keep track of how many seats we have available for the charter. Also, there is a $15 co-pay that everyone must pay the day of the trip. This co-pay is applied to the bus charter fees.
Members who are under the age of 18 Unfortunately we can not allow minors on board without a parent or legal guardian. This is an absolute must, we are crossing state lines and it is illegal for us to have a minor on board without his/her guardian. There will be alcohol on board and we don't want problems.
Coolers & Heat Packs It is essential that you purchase heat packs to keep your fish, coral, etc warm once you purchase them. The day is long and keeping your treasures warm is a high priority. Most of the reef shops can provide us with styro coolers, but they will not have heat packs. It is very important that you bring those along. These heat packs can be purchased at Target, Gander Mountain, etc. You are encouraged to bring your own sturdy fish coolers. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/18 ... v_XASD0001
Food There are no planned food stops. Some of the shops we are stopping at have fast food, sandwich shops, etc. near them. You can bring snacks, sandwiches, candy on board. Most of the shops we are stopping at provide some snacks and beverages.
Alcohol Alcohol is permitted to be consumed on board the bus. We have been advised in the past to avoid glass (beer) bottles and encouraged to use sippy cups. Cans and liquor/wine bottles are OK. Beverage coolers can be stowed in the storage area under the cabin of the bus. On this trip your favorite beverage can follow you from store to store and in the store. http://www.bubbakeg.com/Products.aspx
This is a very exciting and fun event that has been a yearly highlight for many members. The stores bring in special corals and have special deals for us, there is a rolling raffle on board the bus, and nait002’s commentary is worth the price of admission.
If you are unsure about the trip, ask around. Many members have made the trip.
This year’s bus charter will visit Exotic Aquatics, Sea Schor, Midwest Coral Farms, Sho Tank Aquariums. We may add one more store in the mix as well.
