One thing that we discussed at our board meeting that we are going to kick off at the November meeting will be a test kit survey.
At meetings that have the ability to do so we are going to test out several different brand water test kits doing one type of test.
Members will test a single large supplied sample for one type of parameter using different brands of test kits. We are doing it this way for ease of conducting the survey and also time allotment.
We want this to be more of a membership hands on type of activity than just bringing a sample from home for someone else to test for you.

The results everyone gets will be recorded and a sample from the same water we tested will be sent to Triton for lab testing.
Once we get the results back from Triton we will post all of the data we found and compare.
This function is meant to be more fun than anything with a little bit of science thrown in.

At the November meeting we will start with an easy one for the first time, Alkalinity.
Future meetings with the ability to conduct a survey will have what parameter we will be testing posted prior to the meeting.

I will have on hand a Salifert Alk test kit for testing. If you have a different brand that you can bring to the Nov. meeting for testing please post in this thread.

The more kits the merrier, even if they are the same brand. :-bd

I picked up Tropic Marin and Seachem Alk kits to play around with on Saturday.
TM kit is super easy to use.
